Lippan Art –The Harmony of Relief and Mirror Work
Lippan Art is a captivating blend of relief sculpture and
intricate mirror inlay.
Originally introduced three years ago by an Indian artist,
this unique art form has since been elevated to its peak
of beauty and sophistication by talented Iranian artisans.
Each piece begins with a hand-drawn design inspired by
traditional, Islamic, or historical motifs. The patterns are
then shaped in relief using a special clay paste, creating
elegant textures and depth. Finally, hand-cut
mirrors—each about one centimeter in size—are
meticulously placed to reflect light and enhance the
design’s brilliance, giving the artwork its mesmerizing,multidimensional charm.
